Personal Documents Required
A valid passport with at least 3 months remaining after your planned return date and at least 2 blank pages; two 35x45 mm passport photographs on a white background; a national ID card; and any previous passports if available to show your travel history.
Travel Evidence
A round-trip flight booking confirmation (does not need to be fully purchased — a booking reference number is sufficient); confirmed hotel or accommodation reservations for every night of your stay; a detailed day-by-day itinerary; and travel insurance covering at least €30,000 (this is mandatory).
Financial Proof
Bank statements for the past 3-6 months showing sufficient funds for the trip (typically €50-100 per day is the guideline); an employment letter or recent payslips; and evidence of your occupation or business activity.
Additional Documents by Situation
For students: a current enrollment letter and proof of tuition payment. For business travelers: company registration documents and an invitation letter from a European business partner. For retirees: proof of pension income or regular financial income.
Important Notes
You must prepare documents for the embassy of the first Schengen country you will enter, or the country where you will spend the most time.
